Democrats are once again choosing to take the losing side of an 80/20 issue, voting against the SAVE Act.

The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act this morning.

The bill, championed by Republicans who want honest elections, will mandate documentary proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. Currently, one does not need to provide proof of citizenship, such as a driver’s license or a passport, to vote in races for President, the House, and the Senate.

Under the proposed law, states would be barred from processing voter registration applications unless applicants present “documentary proof” of citizenship, such as a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, a U.S. passport, or a certified birth certificate paired with a government-issued photo ID.

The bill doesn’t stop there. It mandates states to actively purge noncitizens from voter rolls, leveraging federal databases like the Department of Homeland Security’s Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) system and the Social Security Administration’s verification tools. States would also be required to set up programs within 30 days of enactment to root out ineligible voters.

The SAVE Act also takes aim at federal agencies, requiring them to share citizenship data with state election officials within 24 hours of a request—no fees allowed.

Any election official caught registering non-citizens could face criminal penalties, including federal charges. The Department of Homeland Security would even be tasked with investigating and potentially deporting any noncitizen caught unlawfully registered.

Opposing this is clearly indefensible. Despite that, Democrats are sticking to their guns.

Election officials, voting rights advocates and Democrats have warned that the SAVE Act could disenfranchise millions of eligible voters who don’t have easy access to identification documents.

“My Republican colleagues crafted and passed one of the most damaging voter suppression bills in modern history. There’s no doubt that women, military members, and people of color will be disproportionately impacted,” Rep. Joe Morelle, D-N.Y., the ranking member on the House Administration Committee, said in a statement. “The fight to stop this bill — to protect Americans’ sacred right to vote — is not over. I will do everything in my power to ensure every eligible American has access to the ballot box.”

They truly must believe that women, minorities, and service members are just too stupid to get an ID.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams revealed the victims included the pilot and a family of 5 visiting from Spain.

“Three adults and three children were on board a Bell 206 helicopter that left from the downtown sky port just about 3 pm,” Eric Adams said.

An eyewitness said he saw the helicopter split in two.

“It sounded like a sonic boom on my right. I look up, I literally just see a helicopter splitting in 2, with the rotor flying off in the sky… going so fast, it just went straight into the water. I’ve never seen anything like that in my life,” the eyewitness said.

CNN reported:

Six people – including three children – are dead after a passenger helicopter crashed into the Hudson River, said New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

The passengers included a pilot and a family visiting from Spain, he said.

At 3:17 p.m., multiple 911 calls reported a helicopter crash in the Hudson River near the New Jersey coastline at Pier A Park in Hoboken, New York Police Department Commissioner Jessica Tisch said. When first responders arrived, police pulled four people out of the water and FDNY pulled out two people, she said.

Four victims were declared dead on scene while an additional two people were taken to local hospitals, where they were declared dead, Tisch said.

“Our hearts go out to the family of those who were on board,” Adams said.

The helicopter, operated by the tour company New York Helicopter Charter, is currently submerged in the river.

Hungary is fighting foot-and-mouth disease. Again.

For the first time in over 50 years a case of foot-and-mouth disease was reported in March, discovered on a cattle farm near the border with Austria and Slovakia.

‘These things happen’, one may say. Or maybe, think that Hungarian health inspections and procedures were sub-par, leading to this.

Budapest has a different explanation: bioterrorism.

Animal health authorities inspected around 1,000 farms across Hungary today, with only four returning positive results, all in the in the previously affected northwestern region.

“’At this stage, we can say that it cannot be ruled out that the virus was not of natural origin, we may be dealing with an artificially engineered virus’, Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s chief of staff, Gergely Gulyas told a media briefing.

Responding to a question, Gulyas said he could not rule out that the virus outbreak was the result of a biological attack, without giving information on who might be responsible.”

Twice-failed presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton reacted to the SAVE Act passed by the House of Representatives on Thursday.

The SAVE Act passed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 216-208. Only four Democrats, Ed Case (HI), Henry Cuellar (TX), Jared Golden (ME), and Marie Perez (WA), voted to secure elections from illegal voting.

Political commentator Geraldo Rivera appears to have done a complete 180-degree turn on President Trump.

On Tuesday afternoon, Trump announced a 90-day pause on most of the tariffs he had imposed just days before, with the exception of China.

Speaking on NewsNation, where he is an editor-at-large, Rivera argued that Trump had “suckered” China into thinking he was on a suicide mission.

He explained:

He ambushed China. I believe that he ambushed China. I believe that he suckered the whole world into believing that he was going to go down in this, you know, this Harry Carrey, this suicide mission.

I just think he wants the best possible deal he can get for the United States of America. God bless him for that. That’s why people really dig the guy. That’s why he’s hard to beat. That charisma is unbelievable.

You know, I could sing his praises forever, and I wonder if I was sitting here and the market was down 2,000 instead of being up, you know, all these thousands, if I would be singing the same tune. I hope so. It just seems to me that this is Trump writ large.

Rivera hasn’t always had kind words for the current president.

Despite being a registered Republican and long-time friend of Trump, Rivera endorsed Kamala Harris during the presidential campaign.

He was also harshly critical of Trump’s character, immigration policies, and the January 6th protests, arguing he couldn’t be trusted to protect and defend the Constitution.

Back in 2023, Rivera went so far as to compare Trump to Hitler over comments he made on illegal immigration.

The Trump administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has pledged to eliminate animal testing, reinstating a plan originally introduced during President Donald Trump’s first term.

This decision comes after taxpayer watchdog White Coat Waste Project (WCW) exposed the Biden administration’s cancellation of the earlier initiative, which aimed to phase out testing on mammals by 2035.

The original 2019 plan, under then-EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler, intended to implement a 30% reduction in mammal testing by 2025 and a complete elimination by 2035.

This plan was hailed as the most comprehensive effort in U.S. government history to end taxpayer-funded animal experiments, which is supported by millions of Americans across the political spectrum. Unfortunately, a WCW investigation in 2023 revealed that the Biden EPA had quietly canceled the plan and resumed tests on animals.

White Coat Waste uncovered how the Biden EPA was doing animal experiments for “environmental justice,” forcing animals to inhale simulated wildfire smoke and emissions from rifles and handguns.

The agency also killed rabbits after they were used for testing, despite WCW offering to rehome them.

Reinstating this policy has been one of WCW’s top priorities for the new Trump Administration.

Under the leadership of newly appointed Administrator Lee Zeldin, the EPA will now revive and enforce the phase-out.

In a statement to the Washington Times, the EPA said, “Under President Trump’s first term, EPA signed a directive to prioritize efforts to reduce animal testing and committed to reducing testing on mammals by 30 percent by 2025 and to eliminate it completely by 2035. The Biden Administration halted progress on these efforts by delaying compliance deadlines. Administrator Zeldin is wholly committed to getting the agency back on track to eliminating animal testing.”

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis said in a statement provided to The Gateway Pundit:

“I’ve been working to revive President Trump’s plan to eliminate the EPA’s cruel and outdated animal testing. I applaud the commitment of my friend EPA Administrator Zeldin to bring President Trump’s plan back after it was senselessly canceled by the Biden-Harris Administration. Reinstating the Trump EPA plan will save tens of millions of taxpayer dollars and spare countless dogs, rabbits and other animals from painful and unnecessary experiments that can be replaced with modern alternatives that are more effective than antiquated animal testing methods.”

In 2019, PETA tried to take credit for the original Trump administration win despite the fact that it was due to the work of WCW.

When the Biden EPA first quietly removed the 2025 and 2035 deadlines from its animal testing plan in 2021, PETA not only didn’t mention it but praised the agency.

Despite the high-profile press about WCW uncovering the rollback of the Trump plan, PETA never said a word to the press or its members about Biden’s EPA canceling the phaseout and plans to retire the animals. Their only reference to any change was, “In 2019, the EPA released a Work Plan (updated in 2021) outlining concrete steps it would take to reduce toxicity testing on animals and prioritize non-animal testing methods.”

Instead, PETA continued pouring praise on the agency throughout the Biden administration.

Unlike the leftist lunatics over at PETA, White Coat Waste has been stacking up the wins with Trump and DOGE.

The family of a promising teen track star who was murdered in cold blood last week will not receive true justice even if their son’s killer is convicted of murder.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, 16-year-old track and football star Austin Metcalf was brutally stabbed to death on April 2 during a championship track meet at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas.

Metcalf, a junior at Frisco Memorial High School, was attacked in broad daylight by 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony of rival school Frisco Centennial around 10 a.m. after the youth became upset about being told he was in the wrong place. Anthony has since been charged with first-degree murder.

Last Friday, CBS released more details about the attack. For some reason, Anthony decided to sit under Metcalf’s school tent before being asked to leave. Assuming this is true, can anyone blame Metcalf for confronting Anthony?

The outlet also revealed that the police noted Anthony’s chilling final words to Metcalf before he fatally stabbed the Frisco Memorial High School junior: “Touch me and see what happens.” Essentially, a death threat.

A couple of witnesses alleged this is precisely what Metcalf did, which supposedly provoked Anthony into killing him. No one knew Anthony had any weapon on him.

But despite this brutal crime, Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis told WFAA that they will have no choice but to give Anthony leniency if he is convicted. And you can thank the U.S. Supreme Court for this travesty.

“The Supreme Court has said not only can you not seek the death penalty against someone who committed a crime when they’re 17, you can’t even get them life without parole. That would not be something we could do even if we wanted to,” Willis said.

As CNN notes, The Supreme Court in 2005 banned the death penalty for those under 18 who commit aggravated murder. The justices then ruled five years later that juveniles found guilty of non-homicides could not receive life without parole.

In 2012, the Court issued a 5-4 ruling Supreme Court that two men convicted of killings committed when they were 14 could not be sentenced to life in prison without at least the possibility of parole. Justice Elena Kagan wrote that states that sentencing them to life behind bars would be “cruel and unusual punishment.”

“The mandatory sentencing schemes before us violate this principle of proportionality, and so violate the Eighth Amendment’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment,” Kagan said.

Given the nationwide publicity it has received, Willis also addressed whether Anthony’s case could be tried outside Collin County.

“We know his lawyers would be asking for that, but we need to just let all that play out in the courtroom,” Willis said to WFAA. “Ultimately, that’ll be a judge’s decision to make at the time of trial, but, yes, this happened in Collin County.”

“I want Collin County citizens to be able to decide this,” he added.

On April 9, 2025, J6 defendant Ryan Zink, with the help of his attorney Roger Roots, obtained an order from Chief Judge James E. Boasberg that effectively opened up the truth about J6 to the public.

On March 22, 2025, Roots filed a motion in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to lift the protective order restricting access to the global discovery for January 6.

This trove of discovery—consisting of over 8 million files—has been hidden from the public for over four years.

The government failed to file a response to the motion, forcing Boasberg to grant it.

This ruling effectively did what the Republican-led Congress couldn’t—or wouldn’t—do: give the American people unfiltered access to the discovery materials that could rewrite the narrative of January 6.

But the victory was short-lived. Just hours later, DOJ J6 prosecutor Jennifer Blackwell and Trump-appointed United States Attorney Ed Martin filed a motion to claw back the order. The status of the discovery hangs in the balance until the court issues its next order.

Zink’s Motion: A Fight for Truth and the First Amendment

Zink’s motion, submitted by Roots, argued that the protective order was an unjust barrier preventing defendants, journalists, researchers, and the public from seeing the full scope of evidence collected from January 6.

Zink and Roots laid out a compelling case rooted in constitutional rights and common sense, making it clear this wasn’t just about Zink, but about the public’s right to access the truth.

The motion pointed to four key ways that allowing public access to the discovery is a gamechanger: it might show misconduct by law enforcement, back up claims of entrapment, support self-defense arguments for J6 defendants, and bolster First Amendment protections.

Roots compared the situation to civil rights-era sit-ins at Woolworth lunch counters, where protesters were accused of “attacking” staff but barred from showing the real story.

“Zink and other defendants, and journalists and researchers and the public as a whole, have a right to examine and publish this footage, evidence and discovery,” the filing declared.

Roots hammered home the point that most of the footage—including Capitol hallways and public areas—wasn’t some top-secret stash.

“Millions of tourists have seen and been in [these] areas,” he wrote.

The motion leaned heavily on Supreme Court precedent, citing cases like Richmond Newspapers, Inc. v. Virginia (1980) and Globe Newspaper Co. v. Superior Court (1982), which affirm the public’s First Amendment right to open court proceedings.

It’s a “presumption of openness,” Roots argued, baked into our justice system.

The motion also tapped into a bigger issue: the public’s right to know what’s going on, especially in a case as explosive as January 6.

Roots called it a matter of “democratic values of accountability and openness,” quoting decisions that say hiding court records from the public—especially when the government is involved—flies in the face of justice.

With President Trump himself calling the J6 prosecutions a “grave national injustice,” the motion argued that transparency here is critical.

The Court’s Bombshell Ruling—and the DOJ’s Panic

On April 9, 2025, Chief Judge Boasberg dropped a bombshell minute order: “As the Government has not opposed Defendant’s Motion to Lift Protective Order, the Court ORDERS that the Motion is GRANTED, and the Protective Order is LIFTED.”

Just like that, the floodgates were opened. The discovery databases—Evidence.com and Relativity consisting of over 8 millions files, videos, and documents—were poised to become public domain, a treasure trove for anyone seeking the unvarnished truth about January 6.

The significance of this order cannot be overstated. For years, J6 defendants, journalists, and interested members of the public demanded the release of J6 footage and evidence.

Zink and Roots, with one bold move, did what the GOP couldn’t. But the celebration didn’t last long.

On the same day, the protective order was lifted, Jennifer Blackwell, a DOJ prosecutor, filed a motion for leave to oppose Zink’s motion—after the fact—and begged the court to reverse its order.

Trump-appointed United States attorney Ed Martin’s name also appeared on the government’s filing without his signature, The story is still unfolding, and it is unclear whether Judge Boasberg will roll back his order.

As of this writing, the status of the J6 discovery is still in question.

Arguably, the floodgates were open, and the government’s motion did nothing to close them. But if the court issues a second order reversing its earlier order, what does that mean for documents and videos that were released?

Will the DOJ seek penalties and sanctions against people who released documents relying on the first order? All of this is unknown.

What is known is that this fight is bigger than Ryan Zink. It’s about whether the public can access the raw evidence of January 6—or whether the government gets to keep spinning its narrative unchallenged.

Zink and Roots’ efforts impact the 1,600 J6 defendants who hope to clear their names by exposing the truth.

The J6ers want the public to see the whole story, while the government wants to hide the evidence from the public. That by itself should raise suspicion about the government’s narrative.

The government’s narrative that J6 was the worst event in American history is a lie. The truth is that the Government’s targeting of J6 defendants was the worst widescale government-sponsored lawfare waged against the American people in our country’s history.

The discovery is only the beginning. What is still left unanswered is who gave the orders to devote unprecedented government resources to the years-long pursuit of senior citizen grandmothers for trespassing during a 3-hour scuffle that did not rise to the level of a single hour of the BLM protests that ravaged the country for months in the spring, summer, and fall of 2020.

If the truth is not uncovered during the Trump administration, and if the tools that allowed the government to target its citizens are not dismantled over the next three-and-a-half years, may God help us on January 20, 2029, if a new Democrat administration comes to power.

President Trump’s “reciprocal” tariffs on dozens of countries including China took place on Wednesday. That included the 104% tariff on Chinese goods entering the US.

Already, the administration’s tariffs plan are specifically hitting China hard.

The Chinese yuan fell to its lowest level in 17 years since 2007. On Wednesday the yuan ended the day at 7.3498 to the US dollar.

China has turned to the European Union and the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as the trade war with the US takes its toll.

The South China Morning Press reported:

Commerce Minister Wang Wentao held a video call with EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic on Tuesday, during which both sides agreed to immediately begin negotiations on electric vehicle (EV) pricing and discuss investment ties in the auto sector, according to a statement released by China’s Ministry of Commerce on Thursday.

They also signalled their readiness to launch market access talks as soon as possible and supported the resumption of a bilateral trade remedy dialogue to address trade frictions related to EU concerns about the diversion of Chinese exports previously destined for the US.

The concrete discussion between Wang and Sefcovic followed a more wide-ranging meeting between Premier Li Qiang and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen earlier on Tuesday.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index climbed 2%, the Shanghai Composite Index jumped 1.1% and the Shenzhen Component Index rose 2.2%.

In Europe, the pan-continental STOXX 600 index jumped more than 7%.

Upon opening, Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 6%, France’s CAC 40 6.4%, Germanys DAX 8%, Italys FTSE MIB 7.5% and Spains IBEX 7.2%.
